Camp details for Camp Ramadhan

Overview

Camp Ramadhan aims to educate children about the significance of Ramadhan as well as reviving the Ramadhan spirit in their hearts through using a range of themes and activities which are connected with the blessed month. The themes include Fasting, The Sunan of Ramadhan, Night of Power and Eid. Fasting teaches us many things to help us become better Muslims. We need to plant the seeds of patience, righteousness, self-control, goodness and kindness in the garden of Ramadhan, so that we can see its effects throughout the rest of the year. Working together hand in hand, we want to beautify and colour the lives of the next generation, here at Camp Ramadhan, instilling each and every one of these qualities in their nurturing souls.

Description

Inner Dimensions of Fasting

Students will study the spiritual aspects of fasting. They will get an opportunity to learn about what it means to fast with our limbs - eyes, ears, tongue, hands and feet. Students will also be given practical advice and tips on how to maintain the spirit of Ramadhan and acts of worship once the blessed month has come to an end.

Last 10 Days & Its Virtues

This topic will explore the glorious blessings that Allah has placed within the last 10 days of Ramadhan. Students will study some of the Traditions of the Messenger of Allah (s) and learn why the last 10 days are extra special. There will of course be a segment of this topic discussing the importance of laylatu l-qadr and its virtues too.

Revelation

The story of revelation is a great way for children to connect with the Noble Quran. It provides students the opportunity to learn where and to whom the Quran was revealed to. Additionally with the context we will provide, students will become aware of why the Quran was revealed in the Arabic language. We will endeavour to plant a seed of love in the hearts of the students for the Quran, enabling them to carry on reading and studying it outside of Ramadhan.

Eid

Students will learn about all of the prophetic practices associated with Eid al-Fitr and the charitable aspects connected to this festive day. There will also be a segment of this topic exploring some of the practices that have become widespread amongst Muslim communities.
